TeamBuilders International FAQ

1. What do you mean by hyper-customization?

By hyper-customization, we mean that activities and games designed for you are based on the main challenges that you want to address for your targeted workgroup, department or team. We will gather information about what your people do (as opposed to what they say they do) through surveys, focus groups, performance assessments or psychometrics to diagnose your own unique workplace situation. We utilize social-scientific methods to analyze workplace behavior, activities, performance, and so on.

2. How does the whole process work?

We will need to understand your team’s issues that you want to address before we customize a program outline for you. And then we will come out with a proposal and present it to you. Once you are satisfied and agree with the arrangement, we work on the deliverables and we do the post-evaluation to analyse whether the program works for your team.

Simply contact our Corporate Development Consultants by inquiring through our website, calling or e-mailing. Let us know the objective of your program and we will prepare you a proposal. We will set up a meeting with you for further discussion upon agreement.

Once you approve and agree on our proposal and presentation, you will sign a Program Confirmation Form (PCF). The program deliverables comes next and finally we will have a post-program evaluation.

3. Do I need to book in advance?

We strongly recommend that you book in advance as we get very busy, especially during peak periods, such as weekends and the middle of the year. Bookings can be made directly via phone (+603 2284 6103) or email ( Our Corporate Development Consultants will guide you through the booking and program set-up process.

4. How do the payment terms work at TeamBuilders International?

A 50% deposit is required upon signature on this Program Confirmation Form (PCF), which has to be done 14 days before the start date of the program to ensure an appropriate time window for booking rooms at the hotel, program set-up and logistics.  The balance is to be settled 7 days prior to the programs by Cheque/ Cash. Please take note that an interest charge of 2% per month will be levied on any outstanding bill not settled after 30 days of program.

5. How long/ many days does a teambuilding program usually take?

It usually depends on your needs or request. Our facilitators have delivered programs lasting 1/2 day (2 to 3 hours) to 4 days-3 nights.

The most effective programs usually tend to be 2 days-1 night or 3 days-2 nights. Longer timescales tend to result in deeper team integration, mutual understanding, trust and support among team members.

Multi-module programs take place over several months and each module covers different competencies.

6. How do you choose the venues for the program?

Just let us know which area (the radius of distance from your location in hours) you would prefer to have your teambuilding program, and we will come out with the quotations for few resorts or hotels around your preferred area for you to choose.

Our trainers and facilitators have delivered teambuilding programs all over West Malaysia ( Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pangkor Island, etc.), East Malaysia (Sarawak and Sabah) and the Asia-Pacific region ( Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, the Philippines, China, etc.).

Nearby Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valleyare locations such as Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Genting Highlands, Port Dickson and Nilai Springs. There are many more.

We have strong partnerships with several resorts, hotels and hospitality groups in Malaysiaand the region, so we can usually get our clients discounted agency or corporate rates for accommodation at these venues.

7. What is the maximum number of participants for a teambuilding program?

For large teambuilding programs, we recommend that each batch should have a maximum of 150 participants. Programs for more than 150 participants can be delivered; they do tend to require more manpower and special logistics, operations and event management techniques. We'd be more than happy to enlighten you more on what these will entail.

8. How do we know if the teambuilding games and activities chosen are the best for our needs?

Programs are designed based on the issue that you want to address. We always make sure that games and activities delivered to our clients are suitable and the best for your needs.

Games to practice leadership, time management and decision making are those that we design for you whereby when your team gets back to work, they can apply what they learn from our program to the workplace.

9. Is it safe?

In a word – YES! All you need to do is follow our simple safety instructions and you’ll have a safe and fun time. Before you get going, you’ll receive a full safety briefing and then you’re off! The course does however, consist of fun but challenging obstacles so there s a risk of minor injury (e.g. bruises and scrapes).

The games are designed to help you build your confidence as you go along. We try to help people to conquer their fear of heights and get outside their comfort zones. Why not try it – you will probably surprise yourself.

10. I have a medical condition that puts me at risk during physical activities. May I opt out of the teambuilding games?

If you have any concerns about medical conditions, yes you certainly may opt out. Our philosophy of "Challenge by Choice" allows you to select and aspire towards your own selected level of challenge and achievement. Please just let us know. The activities are usually not suitable for pregnant women due to the potential risks of physical challenges.

Although you can opt out of participating in the games, we can always find a way to integrate you and other participants who have medical conditions concerns into the program flow.

For example, they can be involved as observers, encouragers, score-keepers, assistants, facilitators and so on, while still have fun and contributing to a stronger team. Please see our Terms & Conditions and Disclaimer & Medical Consent Forms for more information.

11. Are the games and activities designed by TeamBuilders International physically demanding and/or strenuous?

We have some activities that are physically demanding and some that are not. You can request this while inquiring for proposals.

The outdoor games and activities designed by TeamBuilders International are definitely not dangerous. However, we will always remind you regarding the safety every time we conduct outdoor activities.

12. What happens in bad weather?

The weather likes to keep us on our toes but some of our programs are all-weather, which means you can have just as much fun in the rain as you can in the sun. Alternatively, the vast majority of our teambuilding games can be run indoors or in a covered area. No refunds are given if you have booked and paid but choose not to go on the course due to bad weather.

13. Can we combine a package solution of a teambuilding program and corporate training at the same time?

Yes, of course you can. What most of our previous clients have done were to have  their teambuilding activities on the first and second day and corporate training on the final day of the program.

 Again, we hyper-customize!

14. What courses do you offer under corporate training?

Our courses tend to fall into 3 important categories for learning and performance:

Career Development (Programs for individuals such as The 5-Day MBA, Goal Setting and Action Planning for Extraordinary Results, Unlocking Innovation and Creativity, etc.)

Team Development  (Programs for groups, departments and organizations such as Managing Conflict and Creating Consensus, Building Cross-Cultural Unity in Your Team, The Art of Communication, etc.)

Leadership Development (Programs for current and future leaders such as The Science of Motivating and Engaging Your Employees, Strategic Planning and Thinking,  Coaching and Mentoring for High Performance, etc.)
